Open courses

Many employers find that they do not always have sufficient employees retiring in a 12-month period to justify a dedicated pre-retirement event, yet they still wish to provide formal training for their employees who are retiring.

To assist employers in this situation, for a number of years we have provided a programme of open pre-retirement courses throughout the UK. These events have all the qualities of an employer sponsored course but are open to employees from different companies.

They will look at issues such as addressing fears and opportunities of retirement, State benefits, pension entitlements and choices, financial planning, taxes, will and estate planning, lifestyle issues, leisure, hobbies and health.

Attendance at our open courses is free of charge. As with all our retirement courses we would recommend that attendance is limited to employees who are within 12 months of retirement. In our experience, if employees attend much before then, they will not derive much benefit as they cannot truly focus on retirement as a real prospect and they will not have the information regarding their pension and other benefits which is central to some of the decisions they need to take.
